SAILOÉ is proud to announce its partnership with La Copa for the 2025 edition!
This exciting competition will take place in the prestigious bassin d'honneur of the Port du Kernevel in Larmor Plage. Renowned skippers such as Yoann Richomme, Tom Laperche, François Gabart, and Francesca Clapich will compete on Mini J boats.
What is a Mini J?
The Mini J boats are 1/7 scale replicas of the famous J-Class, miniature versions of the legendary 12 MJI yachts. Monohull and rigged as a sloop, these keelboats are steered with a balanced rudder. Agile and responsive, they allow for all classic maneuvers such as gybing, tacking, and daggerboard navigation. Their small size, combined with their speed, offers an exhilarating sensation of glide.
These boats are designed to be safe, even for people with reduced mobility, thanks to their stability and low risk of capsizing. The addition of an asymmetric spinnaker can enhance performance, ensuring smooth and exciting sailing. Their simple operation (a halyard and sheet to adjust the sails, and a wheel or tiller to steer) makes them accessible to all, from novices to experienced sailors.
But La Copa is not just about races. It’s also a celebration of maritime culture, with interactive workshops, lively events, and a chance to connect with fellow sailing enthusiasts.
Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or simply curious, this annual event offers an unforgettable experience where the love of the sea brings all sailing fans together.
